GRANTS DEVELOPMENT

One outcome of the Extension Delivery process was the decision to work in concert with the Georgia 4-H Foundation and hire someone to assume leadership in grants development. An agreement was made to co-fund a position with the 4-H Foundation. As a result a new position was filled on July 1, 2005. Lauren Ledbetter will be responsible for developing grants for Georgia 4-H and assisting county extension offices with grants development in all program areas.

Lauren says that she is excited about the new opportunities that will be presented through grant funding to all areas of Extension.  Visit the Grant Funding section of the Georgia 4-H Foundation Web site. This Extension grants information page will serve as a key communication tool for grant writing to all Cooperative Extension faculty and staff.  It will also offer a grant training tutorial and information on search engines and new funding opportunities.

Please stay in contact with Lauren concerning your funding needs and granting possibilities that arise in your county or area.  Lauren Ledbetter can be reached through email at lauren1@uga.edu or at the State 4-H Office at 706-542-3506.
